Fare And Payment Options

Passengers have several options to pay for fares, including Token Transit Mobile Ticketing, online purchase, phone purchase, or in-person at transit terminals or select libraries. Full fare riders can proceed directly to the Token Transit App, while first-time reduced fare customers should review the requirements to qualify. Passes can also be purchased online and delivered by mail. Detailed options are listed in the fare table below.

1. What types of fares are available?

We offer three fare categories: Bus/Trolley Fares, TD Paratransit, and ADA Paratransit. Each category has specific fare types, such as 1-Ride, 10-Ride, and 30-Day Passes.

2. How do I purchase a pass through Token Transit?

Download the Token Transit app on your smartphone. You can buy a pass instantly and use it right from your phone. A credit, debit, or prepaid debit card is required for payment.

3. What if I don't have a smartphone?

You can order passes by calling 321-635-7815 ext 52935,  purchase at a transit terminal, select Brevard County Libraries, or by mail. Passes can be purchased with a credit card, cash, check, or money order.

4. How do I qualify for reduced fare?

Reduced fare eligibility is available to seniors 60+, students, active or inactive military, and individuals registered for TD or ADA Paratransit services. Medicare cards are also accepted for reduced fare. Apply for a Reduced Fare ID Card to get started.

5. Is there a cost for children or transfers?

No, children under five (5) ride for free, and there is no charge for transfers.

6. Can I buy a pass online and have it mailed to me?

Yes, you can purchase 10-Ride and 30 Day passes online with a Visa or MasterCard and have it mailed to you within 5 business days. You will need to log in to an existing account or set up a new one.

7. What Payment Methods Are Accepted?

You can pay with a credit, debit, or prepaid debit card using the Token Transit app or when purchasing online or by phone. You can also use cash, money order, or check up to $100 when buying at a transit terminal or library.

8. What should I do if I need help with the TD or ADA Paratransit services?

9. How Can I Purchase A Bus/Trolley Pass?

You can buy a pass using the Token Transit app for instant mobile ticketing, purchase online and have it mailed to you, buy over the phone, at a transit terminal or select libraries, or by mail.

10. How Do I Purchase A Reduced Fare Pass?

First-time reduced fare riders should apply for a Reduced Fare ID Card. After your eligibility is confirmed, you can purchase a reduced fare pass using the Token Transit app or other available options.

11. When Will I Receive My Pass If I Purchase It Online Or By Phone?

If you buy a pass online or by phone, it will be mailed to you within 5 business days.

12. Who Is Eligible For Reduced Fare?

Reduced fares are available for active or inactive military, seniors 60+, students, disabled, TD Paratransit, and ADA Paratransit riders. Medicare cards are accepted as proof for reduced fare. Children under five ride for free, and Eastern Florida State College students ride for free with a valid student ID.

13. How can I purchase a pass?

You can buy passes at Space Coast Area Transit offices, select libraries, or online. Use the Token Transit app for mobile tickets, order by mail, or pay with exact change on the bus.

FARE CATEGORIES, TYPES OF PASSES, AND HOW TO PURCHASE

  • There are three fare categories: Bus/Trolley Fares, TD Paratransit and ADA Paratransit Fares. Each category has a different type of fare, based on eligibility.
  • When paying a 1-Ride Fare at boarding, exact change is required as the driver is not equipped to make change.  A 1-Ride Pass can only be purchased in advance with Token Transit
  • Fare specials include 10-Ride and 30 Day Passes. Both must be purchased in advance and are non-transferable.

Advance Fare Purchase Options

Mobile Ticketing: Space Coast Area Transit offers instant contactless mobile ticketing powered by Token Transit. The Token Transit app sends a 1-Ride, 10-Ride or 30-Day Bus/Trolley Pass directly and instantly to a smartphone. Payment with a credit, debit or prepaid debit card is required. To purchase a pass online and send it directly to a mobile phone, use Token Transit Send A Pass. This is helpful when purchasing a pass for friends, relatives, or employees that have a smartphone but do not have access to a credit card.

Online Purchase with Mail Delivery: Purchase a pass Online with a Visa or MasterCard and receive it by mail within 5 business days. Login to an existing account, or Set Up An Account. 

Phone Purchase with Mail Delivery: Purchase a pass by phone with Visa, MasterCard or Discover and receive it by mail within 5 business days, call 321-635-7815 option 2.

Transit Terminal or Library Purchase:  Purchase a pass at either transit terminal with Visa, MasterCard or Discover; cash or money order; or check up to $100.00. Space Coast Area Transit terminals are located at: 401 S. Varr Ave., Cocoa, Florida, 32922 and 460 S. Harbor City Blvd., Melbourne, Florida, 32901. Purchase a pass at select Brevard County Libraries with Visa, MasterCard or cash. 

Mail Purchase and Delivery: Purchase a pass By Mail. with Visa, MasterCard or Discover; cash or money order; or checks up to $100.00. 

Eligibility For Reduced Fare

Reduced Fare Passes must be verified for eligibility prior to being issued. All passes are non-transferable.

Reduced Bus Fare

Prior to purchasing a Reduced Fare Bus Pass, a Reduced Fare ID Card is required. Eligible passengers without an ID card should Apply Now.  An email confirming eligibility will occur within 5 business days. Those eligible for Reduced Bus Fare include active or inactive military, seniors 60+, students, disabled, TD Paratransit and ADA Paratransit. Medicare cards are accepted as proof for reduced fare. There is no charge for children under the age of five (5), or for transfers. Eastern Florida State College Students Ride For Free with a valid EFSC Student ID. Due to a grant from the City of Melbourne, no fare is charged on routes 21, 24, and 29 to Melbourne residents with valid ID who ride within the Melbourne city limits.

TD Paratransit Fare

TD Paratransit qualified passengers ride at a reduced fare. Individuals must go through the TD Paratransit registration process and become eligible to receive TD Paratransit service. ADA Paratransit Fare

Moving Brevard Into The Future

Bus and Trolley routes operate on a set schedule at designated stops, providing extensive coverage throughout the cities within Brevard County as well as unincorporated areas. All transit buses and trolleys are equipped with wheelchair lifts and bike racks. Surfboards are allowed inside the bus/trolley, based on space availability.
