●Does the service end early on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve?
Yes, on both Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve, bus service will end at 6 PM.
●What Payment Methods Are Accepted?
You can pay with a credit, debit, or prepaid debit card using the Token Transit app or when purchasing online or by phone. You can also use cash, money order, or check up to $100 when buying at a transit terminal or library.
●How do I qualify for reduced fare?
Reduced fare eligibility is available to seniors 60+, students, active or inactive military, and individuals registered for TD or ADA Paratransit services. Medicare cards are also accepted for reduced fare. Apply for a Reduced Fare ID Card to get started.
●What does "Saturday Service" mean?
"Saturday Service" means the buses will run according to the Saturday schedule for each route. Please check the route schedules for specific times.
●Is there a cost for children or transfers?
No, children under five (5) ride for free, and there is no charge for transfers.
●How much are the fares for riding the bus or trolley?
A 1-Ride Fare is $1.50, and a Reduced Fare is $0.75. You can also buy a 10-Ride Pass for $12.00 or a 30-Day Pass for $42.00.
●How Can I Purchase A Bus/Trolley Pass?
You can buy a pass using the Token Transit app for instant mobile ticketing, purchase online and have it mailed to you, buy over the phone, at a transit terminal or select libraries, or by mail.
●How do I signal the driver that I want to get off the bus?
You can pull the cord or press the stop button near your seat to signal the driver that you’d like to get off. Please do this one block in advance of your stop to allow the driver enough time to safely pull over.
●How often is this holiday schedule updated?
We update this holiday schedule yearly. However, the observed holidays generally remain the same.
●How do I apply for a Reduced Fare ID Card?
Choose your category from the list and upload the required documents. You’ll get an email within 5 business days confirming if you’re eligible.
●Can I buy a pass online and have it mailed to me?
Yes, you can purchase 10-Ride and 30 Day passes online with a Visa or MasterCard and have it mailed to you within 5 business days. You will need to log in to an existing account or set up a new one.
●How do I purchase bus passes online?
You can buy bus and trolley passes online through the app or website. After purchasing, your pass will be stored digitally for easy use.
●How can I purchase a pass?

Passengers are allowed to bring only the items they can carry on by themselves. Please avoid bringing bulky or heavy items that may block the aisle or take up extra seats.

●How much does TD Paratransit cost?

●What’s the difference between ADA and TD Paratransit Services?
ADA Paratransit serves individuals with disabilities who cannot use Fixed Route buses or trolleys and only operates within ¾ mile of a Fixed Route service. ADA fares are capped at twice the regular bus fare.
TD Paratransit, on the other hand, serves individuals who are transportation disadvantaged but may not necessarily have a disability. TD service can cover a wider area and may have different fare structures.

●Can the volunteer driver help with my groceries?
Yes, volunteer drivers can assist with carrying groceries to and from the vehicle, but please keep your shopping manageable so the driver can help you efficiently.

Children under 15 ride for free when accompanied by a fare-paying passenger. Children under 5 must ride in a car seat, provided by the rider.

Veterans can apply for a Reduced Fare ID Card online by submitting qualifying documents like a Department of Veteran’s Affairs ID, driver’s license with a veteran’s emblem, or a DD214 with a valid photo ID. If you need to cancel or change your scheduled ride, contact Space Coast Area Transit as soon as possible to make the necessary changes.

Volunteers must complete the application, attend training sessions, provide three verifiable references (non-relatives), and submit necessary background information for safety purposes.
●What about driver’s records and background checks?
Brevard County requires a review of your driving record and other safety-sensitive information. Once your application is submitted, the Volunteers in Motion coordinator will contact you to gather additional background information.
●When do veterans ride for free?
Veterans ride for free on Veterans Day, November 11th. Just show the bus/trolley driver a Department of Veteran’s Affairs ID, a driver’s license with a veteran’s emblem, an active Military ID, or a Department of Defense ID to get free fare on this special day.

●How long does it take to receive my pass if I order by mail or online?
Passes ordered online or by phone will be delivered by mail within 5 business days.
●How does the recipient redeem the pass?
The recipient will get an email from "orders@mail.tokentransit.com" with the subject “Redeem Your Transit Pass for Space Coast Area Transit.” They should open this email on their phone and tap "Redeem Now." They need to pick the Token Transit app to use the pass. If they haven't done so already, they will need to download the Token Transit app to add the pass to their account.

Real-time notifications let you know when your bus is arriving. You can set up alerts through the app to receive updates about your bus’s location.
●How do I join a vanpool?

1. How do I send a pass to someone?
Go to the Send A Pass page on the Token Transit website. Enter the rider's email and name (if you want), then fill in your billing info. The rider needs to be able to get emails on their smartphone to use the pass. It will be sent straight to their phone.

You need the rider's email and you can add their name if you want. Make sure the rider can get emails on their smartphone. You’ll also need to give your billing info, like your email.
3. Do they need to download the Token Transit app to use the pass?

1. What if we have two cars but only one is used for commuting?
If one person uses the car for work and the other needs it for family activities, the calculator can help show how much you could save if the commuter switches to public transportation. This could mean less wear and tear on the second car and possibly cutting down to one car.
2. What about yearly car costs?
We include your insurance, car payments, and car value. For car value loss (depreciation), we estimate it at 15% of your car's value. We also add average costs for car registration and fees.
3. How does carpooling compare to vanpooling?
While carpooling can save money by sharing a ride with others, vanpooling with Commute with Enterprise can offer more savings by spreading the cost among more people. The calculator can help you compare these options to find the best fit for you.
4. What about reducing carbon emissions?
The calculator estimates how much you can cut down on carbon emissions by using public transportation. It uses EPA's data that 8,887 grams of CO2 are released per gallon of gas and converts this into pounds for easy understanding.
5. How does the calculator figure out yearly driving costs?
We take your daily round-trip miles and multiply them by 250 days (since you work 5 days a week for 50 weeks). Then, we use your car's miles per gallon (MPG) and the current gas prices to find out how much you spend on fuel each year.
6. How do you figure out the cost of maintenance and tires?
The calculator uses average costs for car maintenance and tires, based on your car's size. We multiply these costs by your yearly miles to estimate how much you spend on maintenance and tires each year.
7. How do you calculate the cost of taking the bus?
We take the price of a monthly bus pass and multiply it by 12 to find out how much you'll spend on bus rides each year.
8. How do you figure out vanpool costs?
For vanpooling, we calculate how much gas is used each year by dividing your yearly miles by 16.75 MPG (the average for vans). We multiply this by the gas price and add the yearly cost to lease a van with Commute with Enterprise. Then, we divide this total by 11 (average number of people in a vanpool) to find the cost per person.
9. Does using the bus or vanpool make sense if we still need one car for the family?
Yes, using public transportation for commuting can save you money on gas, maintenance, and insurance, even if you need one car for errands and family activities. The calculator helps you see how much you can save by using the bus or vanpool for work.
Emergency Evacuation Support
1. Will I be transported back home after the emergency?
Yes, after the "all clear" is given by the Emergency Operations Center, Space Coast Area Transit will transport special needs residents back to their homes. Pets will also be returned if they were picked up by Animal Services.
2. Is transportation to shelters free?
Yes, transportation to special needs and primary evacuation shelters is free. You must either pre-register or request transportation if you have no other way to get to a shelter.
3. Can I bring my pet to the shelter?
No, pets are not allowed in special needs shelters. Brevard County Animal Services will arrange to pick up your pet if you have pre-registered and included information about your pet.
4. What happens after the emergency is over?
Once the “all clear” is given, Space Coast Area Transit will return special needs residents and pets to their homes. Public transportation services will be restored as soon as possible.
5. How do I register for transportation to a special needs shelter?
You must pre-register with the Brevard County Emergency Management Office by calling 321-637-6670. You can also ask for help from a home health agency, hospice, or other caregiver.
